Salt Springs
A small community west of Salt Springs along the Salt Springs spur (SR 19) of the Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway, and home of the Salt Springs Recreation Area. There is a grocery store here, along with several popular restaurants, camping, and access to the springs for swimming, paddling, and fishing. A back road leads to the Fort Gates Ferry, the only car ferry still in existence across the St. Johns River.
